ST ANDREWS Day Trip

one of my favourite places

The recent delivery of paintings to Eduardo Alessandro Studios in Broughty Ferry for their still life exhibition, resulted in a short drive south across the Tay Road Bridge, Dundee and over to St Andrews for the day.

A long walk with the family and Beau on West Sands Beach and then, with it being a Sunday and no golf on the course, we walked the 18th fairway of the famous Old Course, stopping to catch our breath at the famous Swilcan Bridge.

We then took a little trip round the shops before a nice meal, and then a quick visit to Jannettas Gelateria for ice cream is a must before the drive home, whatever the weather!

Here’s an image of an abstract painting I did, inspired by our trip. This piece has found a home now but I’m sure there will be many more trips to St Andrews and several new pieces to come.

A popular way to see my most recent original paintings is by following me on social media, and you’ll be able to discover, on a daily basis, what I’m working on in my studio - and videos of studio life.

Now part of private collections are the paintings of The Swilcan Bridge, The Old Course, St Andrews - and the other of Liberty, London.

ORIGINAL PAINTINGS AND COMMISSIONS

Two original painting commissions are almost complete that have been under wraps. I’ll share images of these when they have been completed, framed and away to their forever homes. I have been filming one of the pieces to show a time lapse of my process from sketch to finished oil painting.

I’m painting almost every day in my studio, so if you wish to view any original paintings or discuss a commissioned piece, please get in touch.

I also have a selection of Limited Edition and Open Edition Prints, Framed Ceramic Tiles and Greetings Cards available at the studio and you’re always welcome to visit to collect any orders or if you are interested to see any products before making a decision.

Limited and Open Edition Prints, as well as the Framed Ceramic Tiles and Greetings Cards, have continued to be popular on the website. Framing options are available on the Open Editions, and I’m currently working towards including this service on the Limited Edition Prints and Greetings Cards.

Thank you to everyone that has placed an order, and your lovely feedback.

I have a link below to my Google review page, if you would like to leave a review? This really helps with my online presence and search results, so any input would be greatly appreciated.

TEAMWORK

MAKES THE DREAM WORK!

I’m very fortunate to be able to finish my original paintings, then immediately hand them over to my husband Alan to take to the workshop to frame. Alan also frames all my printed products - the Limited and Open Edition Prints, the Framed Ceramic Tiles and Framed Cards. It is always a pleasure to see them arrive back in the studio with a nice new frame.

NEW FRAMED CARDS

now available ON THE WEBSITE

There is now a limited selection of Framed Cards on the website. These have been made using off-cuts from my original paintings frames, which is a great way to cut down on waste. These are mostly alI hand painted, high quality frames and offer great value for money. I’ll add more to the website as and when they become available, so when they’re gone, they’re gone! Well, at least until there’s more off-cuts!

and finally

A HUGE THANK YOU!

I’ll end here with a huge thank you for all the kind messages I received about Bella’s passing last month. We rescued her when she was 10 months old, and gave her a great life, full of love and cuddles.

Our other retriever Beau has been out and about, on longer, and more regular walks - hopefully to keep him from missing Bella too much!

Here is Beau, up the hill at Knapps Loch, just outside Kilmacolm - not too far from home. A bit chilly in the late afternoon sun, but worth it for the beautiful view! I have painted at the Knapps often over the years. A walk with the sketchbook on a day like this is always nice to do - keeps this boy happy too!

Speak to you all again very soon,

Emma x
