Creels at Crail

Creels at Crail
Inspired by the charming fishing village of Crail in the East Neuk of Fife, Creels at Crail celebrates one of Scotland's most picturesque harbours. Colourful cottages overlook the waterfront while traditional lobster creels in the foreground reflect the village's long-standing fishing heritage.
Painted in oil on gesso panel, this original artwork captures the peaceful atmosphere of the harbour as the light begins to soften towards evening. Rich layers of turquoise, teal and soft lavender are combined with expressive brushwork and subtle texture to create a contemporary interpretation of this much-loved Scottish coastal scene.
Part of my collection of small original Scottish landscapes, Creels at Crail explores the places, light and atmosphere that continue to inspire my work.
